THE FOLLOWING FOOD POLICY WAS IMPLEMENTED TO ENSURE THAT OUR KENNEL MAINTAINS PROPER SANITARY CONDITIONS AND TO ENSURE THAT EACH DOG RECEIVES THE PROPER QUANITY AND BRAND OF FOOD

Dogs are routinely fed at 9:00 AM. Dogs that are normally provided with two or more smaller portions per day at home will be given one large meal in the morning while being boarded. Clients who expressly request more than one large meal per day will be charged .25 per each additional feeding. Clients who normally feed more than once per day and do not wish to incur an additional feeding charge are encouraged to condition their dogs to one larger AM feeding for approximately one week prior to being boarded, as the transition from two smaller meals to one larger meal per day could contribute to diarrhea. Also, dogs that are fed a diet that requires extra “special” food preparation will be charged a .25 fee for each preparation. “Special” food preparation includes canned food and/or any cooking or heating of food.

We feed quality Iam’s and Iam’s Eukanuba products. Clients who feed a different food are encouraged to provide us with food, as a sudden change in diet can result in diarrhea. Please see our Medical Issues page for more information. Food must be presented to us in *Ziploc® (type) plastic sandwich bags with each meal pre-measured and individually packaged. Clients who provide us with food that is not individually packaged will be charged a $5.00 fee to cover our costs of measuring and packaging the food for them. Clients who board for extended periods (14 days or more) can provide food in a sealed watertight rubber or plastic container. The container must have the dogs name clearly written on the lid. An unopened bag of dog food does not constitute a sealed container. Clients who bring opened or unopened bags of dog food will be charged $5.00.
